LAHORE: Porsche unveils latest Panamera models for Pakistani market

panameraPorsche announced the latest range of second generation Porsche Panameras for the Pakistan market the other day.

The Porsche Panamera SE-Hybrid, Porsche Panamera 4S, and Panamera Turbo will be available in Pakistan in both standard and executive classes. The cars are available for order as of now, with the first models expected to arrive from the end of July.

The jewel in the crown is the new Panamera SE-Hybrid, which made its debut at the recent Shanghai Auto Show. The Panamera SE-Hybrid differentiates itself from its predecessors with a much-improved battery and electric motor. It is also the world’s first plug-in hybrid in the luxury class and a new role model of intelligent interconnection of efficiency, sportiness and comfort.

The Panamera SE-Hybrid is a systematically advanced development of the parallel full hybrid, which Porsche introduced to the market as a pioneer in the field. With 416 horsepower, acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h, it is a Porsche Gran Turismo through and through. Its special fascination comes from its unique efficiency and the ability to drive considerable distances in all-electric mode. In the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), the Panamera SE-Hybrid consumes 3.1 litre/100km, which equates to 71 g/km CO2 emissions. The electric driving range of the Panamera SE-Hybrid was determined to be 36 kilometres in the NEDC, and its top speed in electric driving is an unrivalled 135 km/h. In addition, an entirely new three-litre V6 engine with bi-turbo charging has been launched with the new Panamera S and 4S. With the launch of the new generation, the Panamera range is now increasing to ten individual models that offer an extended range between sportiness and comfort.

Speaking about the launch, Porsche Pakistan Marketing Manager Ansa Hasan said, “We at Porsche Pakistan have long been advocates for environmentally conscious technologies, of which hybrid is the forerunner. Both new Panamera models will be powered by the latest Panamera SE-Hybrid, which is a new benchmark in terms of environmental consciousness and performance.”

She said that Porsche has a commitment to the environment and to remaining in Pakistan where “we think a great potential exists for developing the automobile market and industry”.
