Islamabad: (May 10). Colonel Staff Mohammed Abdullah Al Kaabi, the Military Attache’ at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates held a reception to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the unification of the Armed Forces of the UAE. The Ambassador Ali Saif Awani and Military Attache’ welcomed distinguished guests. The dignified event was attended by number of senior military officers, politicians, ministers, members of National Assembly, Senators, members of the Arab Diplomatic Corps and as well as foreign military attaches’.
The deputy chief of staff of Air Force, Air vice Marshall Assim Suleiman congratulated the military attaché Colonel Staff Mohammed Abdullah Al Kaabi on this auspicious occasion and wished the UAE government and its people further progress and development under the leadership of the President Sheikh Khalifa bins Zayed Al Nahyan.
In a brief speech, the Ambassador Ali Saif Awani highlighted the importance of 6th May and termed it an important event in the history of the UAE which will remain in the cherished memories of its people forever. We are very proud of the UAE’s armed forces, which are equipped with advanced defence systems, state-of-the-art technologies and high level combat capability, Ambassador Ali Saif Awani added.”
He noted that the development achieved by the armed forces is the result of the efforts and strategy of the UAE leadership. He spoke highly about the UAE armed forces various humanitarian initiatives and UN peacekeeping missions in a number of countries.
On his part, Colonel Staff Abdullah Mohammed Al Kabbi said it is a great honor for him and other staff members to be the soldiers of the armed forces, doing our duty with devotion and fully engaged in peace and security missions and humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the people during natural calamities anywhere in the world including Pakistan
Profoundly, this day was founded and sustained by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan , the founder of the modern state and further on patronized by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE president , Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
During the ceremony a documentary on the achievements of the state and the evolution of the armed forces was screened. It projected the different stages of its unification. It pinpointed armed forces contributory role in the strengthening of the Federation along with it up-gradation process of the armed forces. It valued state-of-the-art weaponry and professional expertise and the most modern military field skills in the documentary
