Islamabad: UAE Embassy in Pakistan organized an Iftari program on August 3 in famous SOS Village, Rawalpindi for orphans. It was co-sponsored by Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation. The SOS Village deals with welfare of orphaned children and unprivileged segments of the society in the country.
Under the directives and special guidance of His Highness Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of UAE, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Board of the Foundation has been actively engaged with these kinds of humanitarian activities in Pakistan for many years. The Iftari program was attended by more than 300 people including orphan children, staff members, embassy diplomats and high officials from the government.
The incharge of the SOS Village Hoor Fatima expressed her thanks and gratitude for this Inftari program which showed spirits of humanity, brotherhood, sacrifice and patience on the part of UAE organizations and the UAE Embassy in Pakistan. She further told that this gesture of caring and sharing would be healthy for the psychological association and growth of the children in the days to come. She hoped that this Iftari program would open new window of cooperation and better understanding between the local charitable organizations, centers and institutions with the global organizations such as sKhalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation and UAE Red Crescent Authority. Innocent children repeatedly raised the slogans “Long Live His Highness Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President”.
