Islamabad: CDA has approved PC1 for the construction of signal free highway from Zero Point to Rawat.
PC1 has been approved at the cost of Rs 24 billion. Under this project a 10-lane 25 kilometer long highway will be constructed from zero point interchange to Rawat. The project will be completed within two and a half year. Pakistan is facing shortage of over 9 million housing units as formal financial sector caters only up to 2 per cent of all housing transactions, the lowest ratio in the region.
The State Bank’s Quarterly Housing Finance Review, released on Friday, stated that there was shortage of around 8 million housing units in 2009, which has been accumulating by 0.34 million units every year (World Bank, 2009).

The country’s two leading politicians are now Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan (mercifully not anymore Asif Zardari, and even more mercifully not the likes of Khursheed Shah).
Nawaz Sharif is terrified of the Taliban and not in a hundred years can have his heart and soul in any fight-to-the-death against the curse of Takfiri Islam…that brand of the faith, now spread across wide swathes of the world of Islam, which considers all heretics (those who do not agree with it) deserving of death by the sword, or the bullet. Boko Haram in Nigeria is of this persuasion. Daish or the Islamic State, in Iraq and Syria, is spurred by the same belief. One must wonder at the unprecedented women’s membership of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI). Of course, it goes without saying that they are there because they have faith in Imran Khan’s vision, in his sincerity and commitment towards the cause of a ‘Naya’ Pakistan, and contributions in the fields of healthcare, education and the social uplift of the country.
But look a little deeper at the demographics, the educational and economic background of these women (both young and old), and an interesting pattern emerges. It turns out that urban women outnumber the men, by a greater number than any other political party has ever seen. Most are highly educated and high achievers in their own spheres of activity.
Interestingly, most have no background in politics and joined the party with rich life experiences but little knowledge of dealing with the games played in political set ups.
