Punjab University exempts ‘Scholars’ from NTS test

A meeting presided over by Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has unanimously decided that the condition of passing NTS test to qualify for admissions at MPhil and PhD level has been removed from the upcoming academic session.
The meeting was held at Al Raazi Hall of Undergraduate Study Centre which was attended by deans of various faculties and a large number of heads of departments, institutes, centres and colleges of Punjab University. The meeting decided that the departments concerned will hold their own entry tests for MS/M Phil as prescribed in the admission regulations book 2014 of University of the Punjab. According to a report published on 17/4/2014 PIA has been issued a final warning by Saudi Civil Aviation for clearance of unpaid dues or else all of its flights will be halted.


About three years back a PIA Haj Flight from Islamabad was heavily fined for ignoring the Saudi CCA last timing for landing, landed at Jeddah Airport about 15-18 hours late. The flight took off from Islamabad so many hours late because it had to wait for free VVIP loaders.  Iftikhar Mohammad Choudhry took a suo moto notice of it, perhaps with main haj corruption case.
