The Chinese power player of international repute, in collaboration with Engro and Sindh government would be working for setting up a 6000 power plant based on coal fired system.

     Whenever we discuss the role of law enforcement agencies, particularly with specific reference to the continuous wave of terrorism in Pakistan, we simply ignore the reality that the role and responsibility of the law enforcement agencies is absolutely different from that of the intelligence agencies. And not only in Pakistan but all over the world, this difference in the working of law enforcement agencies and the things assigned to the intelligence agencies is very much obvious. An intelligence agency simply gets the information and passes it to the law enforcement agencies which work under the direct command of the local civil administration. Chinese firm to set up solar power plant in Punjab

LAHORE: An agreement was signed between Punjab government and prominent Chinese company in energy sector, ZTE, for cooperation in setting solar power plant, on Sunday.

Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, secretary Energy, President of Chinese company Yu Yong and other officials were present. Secretary Energy and Vice President of ZTE signed the document. Under the agreement, the Chinese company will set up a 500 megawatt solar power plant. Punjab Govt to develop Rs 3 billion industrial city

The Punjab government plans to develop a new industrial city at a cost of Rs 3 billion along motorway during current fiscal year 2013-14. However, a site is yet to be identified,

Official sources told APP on Friday that the government was attaching high priority to strengthening the industrial base and installation of new industrial units was imperative.

Though it is an uphill task as the government can not alone set up industries in good numbers, therefore, it has decided to establish an industrial city under public-private partnership. Pakistani students shine at Int’l Chemistry Olympiad

Moscow: Pakistani students have again proved their mettle at the international level with their superlative performance at the 45th International Chemistry Olympiad 2013 (IChO), held in Moscow, Russia.

LAHORE: 5000 acres of land allocated for solar power projects

Provincial energy minister says private companies can get land for $1 per acre per year on 20 years’ lease

The Punjab government has decided to allocate 5,000 acres of land for private solar power projects in Cholistan. The land will be allotted to the solar power sector investors at a nominal rate of $1 per acre per year for 20 years lease. Out of this 5,000 acres land, 2,500 acres land is located in Maroot, district Bahawalnagar and the rest 2,500 acres land is located on Din Garh Road, tehsil Yazman district Bahawalpur.
