QUETTA TERRORISM

ALI SUKHANVER

Ali display picThe recent terrorist attack in Quetta Hospital took lives of more than hundred innocent citizens and left so many seriously injured. The terrorists might be taking this attack as a successful episode but in the long run this brutality is going to get the people of Balochistan more united against every type of terrorism. The political leadership of Balochistan has openly said that this was an activity supervised and directed by the R&AW and the security forces have started a combing operation against the terrorists and their facilitators. Things would be soon in lime-light and the characters involved in this brutality shall be soon in grip of law but the actual thing is to search for the reasons behind such activities. Most of the analysts are of the opinion that since the beginning of 2016 or in other words, after seeing the CPEC project proceeding rapidly to its completion, the hostile intelligence agencies have become more active in Pakistan regarding terrorist activities. During the last seven months, the law-enforcement agencies of Pakistan arrested many agents of hostile intelligence agencies including an Indian spy Kul Bashan Yadav in Balochistan. AFGHAN REFUGEES IN PAKISTAN

ALI SUKHANVER

Ali display picHas anyone ever thought of those wretched ones who migrated to Pakistan from Afghanistan almost three decades back? Will the Ashraf Ghani government say them welcome if the government of Pakistan sternly decides to push them back to the land they actually belong to? And what would be the choice of these refugees if they are given an option to stay in Pakistan or to go back to Afghanistan? There are countless questions regarding the issue of Afghan refugees in Pakistan. These Afghan refugees started coming to Pakistan somewhere in 1979. Those were the days when the whole of Afghanistan had turned into a bloody battle-field and life for the innocent people who were neither among the Taliban nor with the Russian forces became simply a blazing hell.  After a long period of ten years, in 1989 the Russian troops had to say good-bye to the Afghan lands but even after their withdrawal, peace remained an unfulfilled dream for the people of Afghanistan. There had been a state of civil war in Afghanistan. The Taliban had been trying their best to get hold on the whole system and somewhere in 1996 they succeeded in capturing Kabul and establishing the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Story did not stop here. US had a very old dream of ruling over Afghanistan through its proxy-rulers and it always wanted to bring India into the Afghan scenario as the representative of US but this situation was certainly never acceptable to Pakistan. The Taliban were also of the opinion that no foreign forces had any right to intervene in Afghan situation. A state of clash and conflict continued for many years and at last the US and NATO forces entered Afghanistan making the 9/11 attacks the basis of Read More »AFGHAN REFUGEES IN PAKISTAN

INDIA’S EVIL DESIGNS AGAINST IRAN

ALI SUKHANVER

Ali display picThey were friends when I was a school boy, I had read a lot in my text books about their sincere friendship; Pakistan and Iran; two brotherly countries. Iran was the first ever country which internationally recognized the sovereign status of Pakistan. And when I grew up I came to know that throughout the Cold War, Iran had been strongly supporting Pakistan in its conflicts with India. In return, Pakistan supported Iran militarily during the Iran–Iraq War in the 1980s. The two countries are economic partners in many projects and both are the founding members of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). Every year thousands of Pakistanis go to Iran for Ziarat of Imam Raza’s shrine at Mashhad and other sacred places. Iran is the only country whose cultural centers, Khana-e-Farhang, are working in almost all major cities of Pakistan. But in spite of these entire facts and figures one cannot negate the presence of an unseen wall of strangeness between the two countries. Somewhere in the last May I was in Iran on a ten days official visit. One day while traveling to my hotel in Tehran I asked my Irani driver about this unseen wall of strangeness; he simply replied, ‘Pakistan supports and favours the Taliban, Iranian people don’t like it—-the Taliban factor has created an air of distrust and disbelief between the two countries.’ Here the question arises; does Pakistan really support the Taliban? And if really the root-cause of growing distances between Pakistan and Iran is the Taliban factor, what about Iran’s strengthening relationship with India; everyone knows that India is providing all kind of support to those groups of Taliban which claim the responsibility of various terrorist activities in Pakistan. If supporting Taliban factor were the only cause of Iran’s displeasure, there must have been a very vivid air of stress and tension between Iran and India. But at present the situation there is altogether different. Even a blind man can feel an overwhelming presence rather interference of India in the Iranian society. Indian professors, Indian diplomats, Indian products, Indian religious scholars, Indian newspapers, Indian channels; in short one finds a lot of India in Iran. Is it the failure of Pakistan on diplomatic front or success of Indian policy makers rather conspirators.Read More »INDIA’S EVIL DESIGNS AGAINST IRAN

Ali display picThe present sorry plight of Kul Bushan Yadev, the terrorist of the RAW, is simply a blob of shame on the very face of Indian society. His arrest is no doubt a wonderful achievement of the intelligence agencies of Pakistan but it must be kept in mind that history is replete with such marvelous achievements of the intelligence and security agencies of Pakistan particularly with reference to the agents of Raw. These agents have ever been involved in very cruel type of terrorist activities in Pakistan though the intelligence agencies of Pakistan did never let them enjoy a long time working. Same is the case with Kul Bushan Yadev, the Indian terrorist of RAW who was arrested just a few days back. In this very short span of time the intelligence and security agencies of Pakistan succeeded in exploring all that was hidden in the brain and heart of this RAW operative. According to the details this recently arrested RAW terrorist was found deeply involved in different terrorist activities in Pakistan including a plan of sabotaging the CPEC project. The security agencies also traced his involvement in providing financial and technical support to the groups of so-called Baloch separatists. But there is nothing new in all these incidents; Raw had ever been very active in Pakistan and it is not for the first time that a RAW operative has been arrested.Read More »NOT A PILL LIKE BANGLADESH

27TH MARCH IN BALOCHISTAN

ALI SUKHANVER

Ali display picHave you ever been to the Capital of Balochistan Quetta? If not; you have really missed a paradise on earth with a lot of mesmerizing beauty. The kindness, the hospitality, the care and the love, enriched with innocently sincere smile of the local people simply adds to the charismatic attraction of this paradise. Moving along the Hanna Lake, at the distance of 156 Km from Quetta one reaches the beautiful Ziarat Valley, known all over the world for The Ziarat Residency. It is the place where the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah spent the last two months and ten days of his life. This wooden-structured building was constructed during the British Raj in 1892 and was originally designed as a sanatorium before being converted into the summer residence of the agent of the Governor General. On 15 June 2013, this building of great national importance was targeted with rockets. The building was nearly demolished as a result of this attack. A local policeman, Bijjar Baloch also lost his life while trying to protect the building against the terrorist’s attack. The terrorists also removed the flag of Pakistan from the monument site, replacing it with a BLA flag. Later on the Militants belonging to the Balochistan Liberation Army claimed the responsibility of this cowardly attack. After the attack, thousands of local residents of Ziarat carried out a protest and chanted slogans against the BLA. One could feel an air of gloominess all over the atmosphere after the incident. That was really a moment when the real face and popularity of the so-called separatist organization in Balochistan was exposed to the world.Read More »27TH MARCH IN BALOCHISTAN

THE INNOCENT SHAH RUKH KHAN

ALI SUKHANVER

Ali display picWorld popular Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan is passing through the ever worst period of his life as an actor. His bad days started last November on his 50th birthday. Those were the days when countless writers, actors, professors and students joined hands together in protest against repeated incidents of religious intolerance against the minorities in India. Talking at a press conference at Mumbai he had said, “Religious intolerance and not being secular…is the worst kind of crime that you can do as a patriot”. When the media-men asked him if he was ready to give up his awards in protest much like those over the past month, Shah Rukh Khan said he would, in a symbolic gesture if asked to. “Let me get a National Award, and then I will return it”, said he. The Hindu extremists expressed their worst reaction on this statement and started protesting all over India. On 14th February 2016 around 04.30 in the morning some members of Vishva Hindu Parishad started pelting stones at Shah Rukh’s car which was parked at hotel Hyatt Regency on Ashram Road, Ahmadabad. Police arrested three of the VHP members booked in this connection. According to the Press Trust of India the Gujarat unit of VHP claimed responsibility for the incident. The most positive aspect of the story is that the government of India has yet not dragged Pakistan into this pelting episode on Shah Rukh’s car because it has become a tradition in India that all official investigative agencies of India do nothing but simply focus all their efforts on finding the traces of Pakistan behind every troublesome activity.Read More »THE INNOCENT SHAH RUKH KHAN

INDIAN CRUELTIES IN KASHMIR

ALI SUKHANVER

According to a recent report, an estimated 68,000 people have died in the fighting and ensuing crackdown by Indian forces till now. Resentment over Indian rule in the disputed region is now mostly expressed through street protests. The people of Kashmir have to face a new kind of atrocity at the hands of the Indian security forces every day but the cruelest one is the disgrace of Kashmiri women. Dr Anjana Chatterjee is a Kolkata based activist and anthropologist. While speaking at a seminar ‘Experience of Detainees’ in Srinagar, Chatterjee referred to a Human Rights Watch report, ‘Disgracing of women is being used as a war weapon by the Indian Army to punish Kashmiris for their demand of right to self-determination, 7000 Kashmiri women have yet been gang raped in homes, streets and army camps by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.’ This situation calls for sincere attention and efforts of the international forces who claim to be the care-takers of the suffering humanity throughout the world.Read More »INDIAN CRUELTIES IN KASHMIR

NEW DAYS FOR BALOCHISTAN

ALI SUKHANVER

Ali SukhanverThe asylum application filed by Nawab Akbar Bugti’s grandson Brahamdagh Bugti has been rejected by the Swiss immigration authorities. This rejection was on the basis of Pakistan’s decision of declaring him a terrorist. Pakistan had declared Brahamdagh Bugti-led Baloch Republican Party BRP as a terrorist organization. It is something very positive on the part of the Swiss government that it honoured the decision of Pakistan and did not accept Brahamdagh’s application for asylum. The decision of the Swiss government is a proof that the whole world is united against the menace of terrorism. Terrorism is such a horrible scourge that its remedy is next to impossible unless all countries get united against it.  Pakistan has expressed gratitude to the Swiss government for turning down the political asylum plea submitted by this self-exiled Baloch separatist leader. Certainly this situation would be very painful for Brahamdagh Bugti; he is a tribal lord and for tribal lords requesting and appealing is considered against the tribal traditions.

THE APS TRAGEDY

ALI SUKHANVER

Ali Sukhanver‘Where do the stars disappear when the daylight arrives’, I used to ask my mother when I was a little boy of three or four years. And my mother would always smilingly reply, ‘The stars never disappear; they simply come down on the earth and convert into flowers; you are my flower; you are my star’. That was really a very beautiful answer; I realize it now when my mother herself has gone to heaven. After spending almost half a century here in this world of dreams and desires, I feel the most trust-worthy and the most confident relationship is that of a mother and a child. In love of their children, mothers sacrifice all that they have and all that they own; but sometimes mothers have to sacrifice their children too. In Islamic societies such type of sacrifice is known as ‘Shahadat’. In the history of humanity, the 16th December 2014 would always narrate a strange story of the same type in which mothers of more than 134 innocent children had to bear the sacrifice of their children in the largest interest of their nation and their country. Their innocent children were brutally slaughtered as if they were animals, not human beings. And the most pathetic and unfortunate aspect of this story is that this slaughtering was done in the name of religion.Read More »THE APS TRAGEDY
