Pak Suzuki launches new Wagon-R

WagonRKARACHI: Pak Suzuki launches 1000cc Suzuki Wagon-R in Pakistan by customising it in accordance with the local environment and rules and regulations.

Toyota prices decline by Rs75,000 in Pakistan

KARACHI: Indus Motor Company Limited (IMC) has brought down the prices of its cars and pickups by up to Rs75,000, said a press statement on Thursday.

IMC reduced the prices of Toyota Corolla Xli/Gli variants by Rs50,000, while the rates of Toyota Corolla Altis variants were decreased by Rs75,000. The prices of Hilux range of pickups came down by Rs10,000 to Rs30,000

Punjab Vehicle token tax data computerised

The Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department, Punjab, has finally computerized the entire data of token tax after synchronizing data from 147 post offices of Punjab and linked it with an SMS service.

Now, citizens can check their outstanding token tax just by sending their vehicle’s registration number to 9966 through an SMS. Earlier, the citizens had to visit their post offices concerned every year to deposit token tax of their vehicles.Read More »Punjab Vehicle token tax data computerised

Mobile verification system to curb car theft in Islamabad

Islamabad Police has introduced a mobile verification system to curb car theft as it has prepared a database where the information of stolen vehicles would be incorporated.
The police personnel deployed at various check-points are able to check details of any vehicle, through SMS, by entering its registration number. This has helped the police in nabbing vehicles with fake registration numbers, and it has already recovered 124 stolen vehicles. The information issued by the ministry of interior and narcotics control on Sunday said that the capital police had also recovered 111 cars out of the total 714 registered stolen cases from different public places and markets of Islamabad stolen during the last twelve months.
The comparative data of stolen cars since June 1 to December 31, 2012 and June 1 to December 31, 2013 revealed that 71 accused persons for stealing cars were also arrested.Read More »Mobile verification system to curb car theft in Islamabad

Sales of local car assemblers fall 22% in 2013

KARACHI: Unfavorable economic conditions and mounting inflation coupled with unavailability of affordable cars restrained Pakistanis from buying new cars during the year 2013.
Overall situation of all business sectors in the country remained middling in the calendar year 2013 (CY13), thus the auto sector which was still dominated by three Japanese auto assemblers in CY13 failed to register any noteworthy performance in terms of sales and offering new variants. Honda Atlas raises prices by up to Rs 30,000

While Honda Atlas Cars (HCAR) posted a loss of Rs 13 million in the first quarter of fiscal year 2013-14 (FY14), it has also increased its vehicles’ prices by up to Rs 30,000 owing to rising dollar value, Daily Times learnt on Tuesday.

The company following Toyota, has raised City prices by Rs 20,000 and Civic prices by Rs 30,000. The company had last increased its cars’ prices in September 2013 in the same proportion.

Toyota Pakistan raises prices again by up to Rs 75,000

In a bid to tackle unending losses, the Toyota Motors, locally known as Indus Motor Company (IMC), on Wednesday, has raised its vehicles prices once more in a consecutive two months period of current year by up to Rs 75,000.

According to the new price list issued by the company, the increase would be effective from November 18, 2013. The prices have been increased continuously for the second time during the last few months.

Honda launches CR-Z hybrid in Pakistan

2013 model 1500CC car will cost 3.0 million rupees

Honda-CR-ZThe Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan is all set to launch Pakistan’s first official hybrid car CR-Z Sports Hybrid on November 30, 2013, which would be available for Rs 3.0 million, it was learnt on Saturday.

Honda CR-Z is a more sport-oriented car with a 1,500cc petrol engine coupled with a hybrid terrain.

However, old used models of imported CR-Z Hybrid are already available in Pakistan, but Honda Atlas has decided to launch its brand new model officially, as a result of it, this will be a first official launch of any Hybrid car in Pakistan.
