ISLAMABAD: CDA to further beautify, expand Saidpur Model Village
Capital Development Authority (CDA) will further expand and beautify Saidpur Model Village to enrich its attraction for foreign tourists, said CDA Chairman Imtiaz Inayat Elahi during his visit to the Village.
The village reflects real cultural heritage of our rural society, said Elahi, adding, the natural stream flowing through Saidpur shall be cleaned and steps shall be taken to save it from pollution.
He directed the authorities concerned to formulate proper policy for allotment of shops and other outlets in the village in a transparent manner.
“Saidpur is situated on the foot hills of Margalla that makes it unique and further measures would be taken for its beautification, preservation and development,” said the chairman. He directed the authorities concerned to arrange a meeting with the residents of the village to resolve the issues of encroachments, acquisition of land and compensation.
Earlier, Saidpur Model Village project director briefed the CDA chief about the development work. He said in cooperation with the locals, the village had been developed according to its traditional layout keeping in mind the cultural heritage of the area.
Work on car parking, installation of tube well and water filtration plant is also underway, he said. Elahi also inspected photo gallery in the village and expressed his deep interest in the photographs of different development phases of the federal capital. app
