Pakistani students receive Cambridge Top in the World awards

LAHORE: Nine secondary school students from schools in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad will receive Cambridge Top in the World awards for outstanding results in the June 2008 Cambridge International A Level exams. The students are: Sara Jamil (law), Hamza Aftab (Physics), Anum Shaukat (Urdu) and Reema Tariq Butt (Chemistry) from Lahore; Zainab Shafi (Sociology), Hira Omar (Accounting) and Ahmed Tariq Soz (Mathematics) from Karachi; and Zara Durrani (Economics) and Mahin Alamgir (Psychology) from Islamabad. More than 160 students from Pakistan will receive Brilliance in Pakistan awards for outstanding exam results in Cambridge O Level, Cambridge IGCSE, Cambridge AS Level and Cambridge International A Level. “Pakistan ranks as one of CIE’s highest achieving countries in terms of outstanding students,” Cambridge International Exams Regional Manager William Bickerdike said in a statement.
