The University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, has issued guidelines to the students appearing in the entrance test on 14th for admission in medical and dental colleges of the province.

In this regard, the UHS organized an orientation seminar at Al-Hamra Hall on Monday. Hundreds of students besides their parents or other relatives were present on the occasion. The purpose of arranging the seminar was to prepare the students themselves before entry test and to give them guidelines to avoid any mistake while answering the questions.

Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Malik Hussain Mubashar said that UHS was conducting the entry test for the first time this year, adding that MCAT would be mandatory for admission in private sector medical and dental colleges.

According to the instruction: The entry test will start exactly at 9:00 a.m. Candidates should reach their respective centers one hour before the commencement of the test. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after 8:45 a.m.

Every candidate must wear his/her admit card. No body would be allowed to sit in the examination without admit card. Every candidate must bring with him/her a clip board, and blue ball point pen. No mobile phones, blue-tooth, notes, books, weapons, or any other device that can be used for communication or can cause disturbance in the course of the test is permitted within the premises of the centre.

There will be a total of 220 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and each student will have total time allowed 2 1/2 hours (150 minutes). Total marks of the entry test will be 1100 and pass marks 440.

There is negative marking in the test. Each correct answer carries five (05) marks. However, for each wrong answer one (01) mark will be deducted, the students were informed. He informed the students that UHS has prepared specialized answer sheet for entry test which will be called MCQ Response Form. All answers must be given on the MCQ Response Form only by filling the relevant circle/bubble with blue ball point pen.

The candidate should not mark answers on the question paper. He also advised the students to read the “General Instructions”, given in the question paper, carefully before attempting it. Each question will have four (04) responses (answers). One must select the right answer and fill the relevant bubble/circle completely on the MCQ Response Form. Only one circle/bubble must be filled for one question.

Erasing or filling another circle/bubble for the same answer shall be considered as incorrect answer. One candidate shall only be issued one MCQ Response Form. All rough work must be done on the back side of the Question Paper (Not on the MCQ Response Form). The UHS VC strictly warned against exchanging question paper or Response Form with any other candidate during the test.
