The Federal Board of Revenue has formally launched the online FBR Tax Profiling System, enabling 53 million people to check their bank details, properties, utility bills and travel history data.

FBR Chairman Shabbar Zaidi, while addressing a press conference in Islamabad, introduced the system, using which citizens can check their tax profile after paying a fee of Rs500.

The chairman said that the data has been compiled with the help of the National Database and Registration Authority. He said that anyone on the basis of their computerised national identity card and cell phone number can request access to their information.

He said that security features have been added to the online profile system so that no one can access the personal information of another person.

Zaidi said Pakistan is entering a new era and tax assessment will now be made on the basis of available data as well as related information. He further said that Rs500 would be charged for each attempt to access one’s profile.

State Minister for Revenue Hamad Azhar also addressed the press briefing.

As per details, if a person wants to access their information, they will have to send a message to 9966 to receive a code for registration on the system.

Next, the person will have to pay a Rs500 fee and then gain access to their data.

According to the FBR, the system allows citizens to view their profile created by correlating their data from multiple data sources of assets, expenses and lifestyles available with the government.

  1. Hello admin sb,

    Thank you

  2. Dear Friends,

I am an overseas Pakistani living in Dubai since the last 5 years. I have been sending money to my current account in Pakistan through Western Union. I have about 5 million in account. Do I need to be a filer ? Its a current account, not a Savings account. I am not generating any money out of it !

Please guide me ? If I need to buy a car or a plot, do I still need to be a filer ?

Sir, I am overseas in Saudia, have some property in Pakistan. I want to become a filler. How I can apply for that.

    1. Syed Tahir sahib
Only if you have rental income from your property in Pakistan, you need to become filer otherwise being an overseas Pakistani you do not need to be a filer. Registration is very easy on FBR website but to prepare all the documentation you will need help from an accountant or a lawyer. Better you delay it until you come back on vacation.
      Regards

  4. Thanks for the info but they were no help.
I have now found out now that I do not have to declare anything as I am dual national living in uk for over 20 years now. I only have 6 plots of land that don’t generate any income.

That is right. If an overseas Pakistani does not generate any income from the investments in Pakistan, then he doesn’t need to declare assets.

  6. Salam Sir, I am an overseas Pakistani, how can I register myself with FBR to get status of Filer, to avoid withholding and other tax double ratios on my account in Pakistan.

  7. No accurate information available on this portal.i am regular tax payer and and file return on regular basis. But in this system only show telephone numbers and passports numbers and there travel detail. But there is no detail of property , Cars and bank accounts detail. May be this system only for get Rs.500 from common person and stable Tax collection from this amount .

    1. Asif sahib you are right. They do not have sufficient information or may be preferred not to give all the details. In my case vehicle, traveling and withholding tax information is there, nothing else. I think they are just trying to frighten the general public.
