Lahore: Change in format of MBBS practical exams

THE University of Health Sciences (UHS) has changed the format of practical examination of medical students and introduced the Objectively Structured Performance Evaluation (OSPE) system in all professional MBBS examinations to be held this year.

The new practical examination system has been introduced in the wake of complaints about victimisation of students at the hands of some internal or external examiners at the time of announcement of results of various professional examinations every year. The format and model question papers of all subjects of various professional MBBS examinations have been posted on the university website for the convenience of students. The university is also arranging a series of workshops to train the faculty members of its affiliated colleges in this regard and also to finalise the format of the OSPE component in each subject after a thorough review and taking all logistic angles in consideration. Two such workshops have already been held in the subjects of anatomy and physiology.
