ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has announced that Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) will set up 8 public schools, 1 medical college and 8 trauma centers in Pakistan. He was addressing the OPF Board of Governors meeting on Tuesday.
Former care taker federal minister Syed Wajid Bukhri, Federal Secretary Overseas Pakistanis Division Ms Naheed Haider, Managing Director OPF Syed Nayyer Hasnain Haider, Deputy State Bank of Pakistan Mr Yasmeen Anwer and others attended the meeting.
The minister said that their govt has high priorities for the welfare of overseas Pakistanis and their families. He approved to set up OPF public schools at Gwadar, Jacobabad, Nawabshah, Sukkur, Nowshera, Lahore, Atock and Mirpur (AJK). He announced that OPF will establish a medical college in Mirpur, 8 trauma centers (one each in Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Mainwali, Sukker, Dadu, Nowshera, Muzafer Abad and Gawder). These Trauma centers would be helpful to provide medical facilities in these areas. Khursheed also mentioned that OPF Board of Governors has accorded the regularization of contract employees of the OPF and teachers of the public schools, colleges who have more than 2 years’ service.
