Punjab University exempts ‘Scholars’ from NTS test

A meeting presided over by Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has unanimously decided that the condition of passing NTS test to qualify for admissions at MPhil and PhD level has been removed from the upcoming academic session.
The meeting was held at Al Raazi Hall of Undergraduate Study Centre which was attended by deans of various faculties and a large number of heads of departments, institutes, centres and colleges of Punjab University. The meeting decided that the departments concerned will hold their own entry tests for MS/M Phil as prescribed in the admission regulations book 2014 of University of the Punjab. The meeting decided that the successful candidates’ academic record will be evaluated from the rest of 50 marks.
PHD DEGREES: PU awarded 5 PhD degrees.  Sumera Mukhtar got the degree in Urdu after approval of her thesis entitled “Jadeed Urdu Nazam main Alamat Nigari”, Sheza Ayaz Khilji in  Botany, Iqbal Hussain in Punjabi after approval of his thesis entitled “Ishfaq Ahmad: “Punjabi Adbi Khidmaat” (Tehqeeki Tanqeedi Jaiza)”, Saeed Ahmad of Islamic Studies and Tahira Kalsoom in  Education.
EXAMS SCHEDULE: PU Examinations Department has notified that the MA/MSc Part-I Annual Examination 2014 will commence from 26-6-14. Detailed schedule is also available at PU website www.pu.edu.pk.
