The Lahore Development Authority has warned that the practice of using names of different government, semi-government and other departments by developers of some private housing schemes in their advertisements was illegal and an effort to dodge innocent people.
LDA officials have cautioned that the phase-II of a housing scheme in the name of the Planning and Development Department was neither approved by the LDA, nor any application had been filed or documents submitted in the LDA for seeking its approval. “The P&D Department has also expressed its indifference with this scheme. Therefore, its sponsors were using the name of this department without any legal justification,” a note by the authority read. The LDA has informed all the intended buyers of plots in private housing schemes to buy plots only in the approved housing schemes.
