Islamabad: CDA to develop recreational spot ‘Kalanjar Valley’

Striving to provide more and more recreational places, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to develop new recreational place under the name of Kalanjar Valley near Faisal Mosque in the foot of Margalla Hills.

Moreover, a plan to extend and upgrade present recreational spot at Shakarparian has been made and service of a consultant firm was hired to prepare designs of both places.

Sources said that the consultant briefed CDA chairman Farkhand Iqbal and members board about preliminary designs of both the spots which was approved and detail design of the project was directed to be prepared.

Sources said that Kalanjar Valley would contain food park where traditional food of all the four provinces would be available beside a separate court for international food especially for the visiting foreign diplomats. The valley would have swings for kids and special walking tacks.

Under the upgardation of Shakarparian recreational point, a gallery would be constructed where memorable picture of Late Ayub Khan in cabinet meeting which approved developing the new capital, Islamabad would be displayed. Other pictures of other country heads who had planted trees would also be displayed at the gallery.—INP
