پرنٹ میڈیا، ریڈیو، ٹیلی ویژن، فون، فیکس، موبائل فون، ای میل، انٹرنیٹ، یہ تمام جدید ذرائع ابلاغ ہیں۔ زیادہ عرصہ نہیں ہوا، ایک ایسا زمانہ بھی گزرا، جب کہ ڈاک کے ہرکارے ہی صرف کسی نہ کسی سواری کے ذریعہ خطوط لے جاتے، اور اس طرح دیس بدیس، پیغامات کے تبادلے ہوتے۔ خط جانے، آنے میں اتنا وقت لگتا کہ موسم تبدیل، اوربعض صورتوں میں نسلیں بھی بدل چکی ہوتیں۔ اس ضمن میں خود برطانوی متحدہ ہندوستان میں وقوع پذیر ہونے والی ایک تحریک آزادی کا نام لیا جاسکتا ہے، جو ریشمی رومالوں پر چند خطوط تحریر کرنے سے شروع ہوئی، جس کے ایک نمائندہ کردار دیوبندی مولانا عبیداللہ سندھی تھے۔ اس تحریک کا زمانہ پہلی جنگ عظیم کا ہے، جو 1914 سے 1918 تک ہوتی رہی۔ یہ تحریک تو ناکام ہوئی، مگر بعد میں جدید ذریعہ ابلاغ، مثلاً اخبارات، فون، او ر ریڈیو نے کانگریس اور مسلم لیگ وغیرہ کے پیغامات کو عام کرنے میں مدد دی، اور جلسے جلوسوں کے ساتھ ساتھ ان تمام ذرائع نے آخر کار 1947میں ہمیں ایک آزاد مملکت خداداد، پاکستان عطا کردی۔
