To speed up process of registration and facilitate citizens, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) will keep NADRA Swift Registration Centre (NSRC), NADRA Complex, operational on Sundays. NADRA Deputy Chairman Tariq Malik stated this in a press release issued here on Monday. Malik said the decision had been taken to facilitate working class that was busy six days a week while it would also help reduce the rush at NADRA centres. He said Sunday operations would shortly be extended to the whole of the country. “NADRA is striving to remove obstacles in registration process through its 350 Swift Centres and various mobile units across the country,” he said. Malik said so far NADRA had issued 73 million CNICs, which is 81 percent of the eligible adult population. “President Asif Ali Zardari has given us the ambitious target of registering the unregistered population by August 2010 and we will meet it,” he said.
