LAHORE: Presentation on new UK student visa policy
A RENOWNED education consultant giving a presentation on salient features of New UK Visa Rules on Wednesday explained in detail the new Points Based System TIER 4 Student Visa.
The event titled “New Student Visa Rules & Scholarship Opportunities in UK” was organised by Falcon Education & Consultancy Services (Pvt) Ltd at a five star hotel in which students, academics, heads of educational institutions and people from various walks of life participated.
The educationalist, Syed Abidi said, “The new system if implemented in true spirit will weed out non-genuine students and facilitate bonafide students without the support of agents or consultants.”
He explained the basic concept of Points Based System (PBS) and the need for implementing this system by the UK Border Agency (UKBA).
He talked about different TIER structures and categories under the new PBS but focused on TIER 4 Student Visa. He said under the new TIER 4 the students would be awarded 40 points to be successful for an adult student visa, adding the universities/education providers in UK would now be known as sponsors and shall take full responsibility as a host for all overseas students.
“All students accepted by UK sponsors will be issued with CAS or a Visa letter which will carry 30 points and will be a must to apply for a visa”, he said adding, “However, the student will have to satisfy the Education Providers that he/she is a bonafide and genuine student both academically and financially”.
“The UKBA staff at country posts will then verify and conduct verification and authentication of the documents both academic and financial to award 10 points making it a total of 40 points”, he added.
Syed Abidi, who was awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan in 2008, also explained the responsibility and obligation of students when they arrived in the UK and stressed that the new PBS allowed the university and the UK Border Agency to monitor and keep a track of all overseas students. “Therefore, non-genuine students can be easily tracked “, he added.
The event also highlighted scholarship opportunities while a question-answer session was also held in the end in which the participants actively participated.

IELTS isn`t compulsory but if
you take your IELTS test then
chances of getting UK student
visa will be greater.It`s upto you
wheather you take IELTS test or not.

Well, if you really want to study in the
UK , all you have to do ,
Acadamic Education Certificates,
IELTS Certificate ( if possible)
Father`s Bank statement. ( Minimum 30 lacs outside london and 45 lacs in london ) chances of visa 100 percent if you able to do so.
TB Screening Certificate
Valid Passport
white background Photographs
College/University unconditional offer letter
( make sure the college you applied into , should be registered with Uk government DFES)
thats the basic thiings that you need to do, for further information dont hesitate to contact me again, In fact after 3 times refusal i finally got my student visa for Birmingham… thanks to Allah..

Unconditional Letter mean the final visa letter issued by ur sponsor(college/univ) after depositing the suggested tuition fee. That also have your student ref. no and it is issued after the offer letter.

I am a professional banker and got a Student UK Visa last week of December 2008 (initial date 15-12-2008) for studying MS Business & Financial Economics (professional training) at the UOG London. However I recieved the Passport/visa with little bit delay besides some unavoidable circumstances on my part ( genuine documentry evidence exist), it was not possible for me to travel & attend the university by given deadline 16th Jan-09. Infact I had been given a study leave for 0nly 12 months by my employer but my course was for 15 months, where I might have either sacrificed my job or stayed away from completion of my degree. The same degree is for 12 month in Sep session 2009.
Since I have already deposited 2500 pounds to confirm my place for said course, the university has deferred & issued me fresh unconditional offer letter for same course to be started on 21-Sep-2009 (extendable upto 8th of October 2009. The 12 months course ends in Sep-2010
My Visa is already valid through 31-07-2010 & I competently fulfill all the requiremenst as per new rules as well, I need your guidance whether I should travel by 1st week of September for joining the university for sept-2009 session on same visa or reaply for visa.
An earlier response shall be highly appreciated.
