Many friends have enquired about availability of solar electric systems in Pakistan. I tried to contact many companies, claiming to have such systems including Siemens Pakistan, they did respond to my emails but failed to give any further information.
Today there is a news item from APP about the offer from Highnoon Group to electrify one village. I just found their website and have gathered some information from there, which is being posted here. I shall continue my search about solar systems and update visiting friends. I have decided to create a separate category about energy in order to gather all the information under one category because energy is the main issue these days in Pakistan; we have to explore new ways to have cheaper energy sources.

As for those who are not aware about the market, a 2 kilowatt solar system costs 750000 Rs. I fixed a deal over ebay where an american company was selling 2KW solar cells for 880 $ + 120 $ shipping = 1000 $. There is 27 % duty on import so that is 270 $.
Now to sum up 1000 + 270 = 1270 $ which is 108000 Rs. Lets say making we are going to make panels of 200 watts each so we will need 10 panels to make 2KW. Now considering the price of the tempered glass + aluminium frame plus wiring lets assume the cost is 40000 Rs for all the panels. A 2KW UPS will cost roughly 25000 Rs. Two good quality batteries will cost 50000 Rs. To sum up all the cost ::
Solar cells: 108000 Rs
Assembling them into panels: 40000 Rs
UPS: 25000 Rs
Batteries: 50000 Rs
Net Total: 198000 Rs
Average price of a 2 KW solar system in pakistan now a days 750000 Rs.
To make your own system its 198000.
750000-198000=552000 Rs
So you will be saving 5 lakh and 52 thousand on making your own solar system.
Its not the time to make this much huge profit out of a source of energy that is our necessity at these times of power outages and high electricity bills..

40 Kw Pennels with only 5 hours is not good enough. The sunset in Pakistan is at about 7.00 pm and sunrise is about 5 am.
The nights are hot and need Air Conditioning for atleast 8 hours.
Based on your calculations the Solor Cells and the number of battries required to maintain 8 hours backup.

As you want to build cold storage i would recommend, you opt for other energy sources, like wind or bio gas.
Solar power systems for such big projects are very expensive and furthermore, they need huge amount of batteries to store the energy for rainy and cloudy days.
We at PV SOLAR are importers and installers of Solar panels, but i would not recommend them for such big installations.
As for your estimates it would cost 550Rs. per watt (including MPPT controllers, Pure sine wave inverters and batteries,installation, aluminium brackets)
If you chose wind energy, you can get all the energy you need in just 3 million Rs.
Bio gas is even cheaper than wind. It only takes 17lakh rs to prepare a biogas plant for your big needs.

I have heard, Govt. of Pakistan discourages importing solar pannels in to Pakistan, this can cause
1- their commission lost by rental power plants.
2- Wapda sends 10 times bills of electricity, who installs solar system, according to wapda, they send
approximate electricity, either you use or not. this is a punishment for saving nation,s electricity.
3-Need to know Govt.Of Pakistan policy and tarrifs of customs duties if individual pakistani imports this
system direct from china etc.

1. It would have been quite nice if all the questions as raised above were answered.
2. What is included in the Equipment. It looks as it is Grid0-Tie system equipment without batteries.
3. If so ie it is Grid-Tie System, then it means no power at night from the system in case of load management or break-downs,
