PhD scholar Deeba Noreen Baig, working with Prof AR Shakoori of the Punjab University School of Biological Sciences, has discovered a bacteria-based, environment-friendly bio-insecticide to combat cotton pests/insects, stated a press release issued by the varsity on Wednesday.
Defending her PhD thesis, ‘Cloning and Molecular Characterisation of cry1Ac Gene from Local Isolates of Bacillus Thuringiensis’ in a public seminar, Deeba highlighted the importance of the findings.
