ISLAMABAD: The British High Commission (BHC) on Tuesday warned visa applicants against unscrupulous individuals trying to defraud people.
“Evidence has emerged that networks of bogus agents and consultants have been operating scams targeted at UK visa applicants,” said a statement issued by the BHC.
It said these scams often involved people claiming to be able to influence or speed up a decision on a visa application, for a fee. “Some also claim falsely to work in the visa section. None of these individuals can speed up or affect the final decision,” it said.
“We’re urging all our visa applicants to be on their guard against these sorts of scams. Our visa service is one of the quickest of any Western mission in Islamabad, and no one except the Entry Clearance Officer has any influence over the decision to grant or refuse a visa application,” said British High Commissioner Robert Brinkley.
He said any applicant approached by someone claiming to be able to secure a visa decision in return for payment should inform the high commission immediately by e-mail to rauisb@fco.gov.uk or phone 051 201 2487.
The statement said the BHC took the integrity of the visa system extremely seriously and recently it announced that any applicant found trying to cheat the system with forged documents or by lying on their application would be refused, and barred from applying for a UK visa for up to ten years.
“We will take swift action against anyone trying to cheat the UK visa system,” Brinkley said, adding, “Mostly, that means agents providing false documents, or applicants trying to use them in their application. But we will also act where we find instances of internal fraud.”
He also said that following a recent investigation into allegations of corruption within the visa section, some staff resigned and several others faced disciplinary action.

Dear Kashan.
It might be good for your application but its not 100% confirm. Because BHC never consider what your forefather did but they much concern that what you want to do or what you have plan to do in there contries or how much you have bank balance or funds to support you while you will study in UK. If you would like to chat me more you can email me at bharamdotcom@yahoo.com . take care.

UPDATE ON APPEAL AGAINST ECO DECISION DATED 03-03-2008 UNDER YOUR REFERENCE NUMBER ISB/1469818 ON BEHALF OF ABDUL AHAD (D-O-B 8-10-2007) DEPENDANT OF IMRAN MASOOD
The appeal of Abdul Ahad against the decision dated 3-3-2008 under your reference ISB/1469818 was sent through recommended courier service i.e., Gerry’ Express, Lahore Office on 27-03-2008. The consignment was sent under reference number 6040261 and it has been received and acknowledged by the BHC, Islamabad.
Following submission of appeal on 27-03-2008 review/decision on appeal were to be made by BHC in a reasonable time frame but despite lapse of considerable time review on decision dated 3-3-08 by the BHC was not made. The delay mounted stress on my family and in distress I addressed many reminders, letters, e-mails to know the fate of the appeal pending decision before the BHC but to the utter surprise and shock no conclusive response whatsoever was ever received by us. The BHC is saddled with the responsibility to handle the appeal with due care and treat him with the standard of responsibility required to be exercised while handling matters affecting life & future of appellant and his family. The appeal filed is still pending decision in BHC and neither decision is being made on the appeal nor is the appeal being forwarded to AIT for its decision. The responsibility to handle the appeal with due care and treat him with the standard of responsibility required to be exercised while handling matters affecting life & future of appellant and his family. The appeal filed is still pending decision in BHC and neither decision is being made on the appeal nor is the appeal being forwarded to AIT for its decision. We have been running from pillar to post to know the exact status of the appeal of my dependant (HSMP) son and repeated e-mails, letters were addressed to the BHC but till date no conclusive step has been taken by BHC. My Lawyer in UK have been confirmed by the AIT vide their letter dated 10 July, 2008 that tribunal has received no notice of appeal in the above referred matter. The BHC in all fairness should either review its decision dated 3-3-2008 and grant visa to the appellant or the notice of appeal be forwarded to the AIT for its decision. The appeal has been lodged on 27-03-2008 and despite lapse of time of 8 months whole matter is still in dwindle apparently for the reason that BHC has been negligent in performing its duty. The concern team has been unable to exercise the due care required to be exercised in handling the appeal. The inaction on the part of BHC has practically put the whole family future at stake and the distress family has been practically remained divided between Pakistan and UK in derogation to their Human Rights.

SUBJECT:How Long Can BHC Hold Back Passport for EC? Indefinite???
What does rules, practice, precedent & experience speak of: “Please Share.”
Dear Forum Members! Your Attention Needed.
Does Anyone Know?
1 – Can BHC keep the applicants waiting for indefinite period (months & months) who has submitted their passports for Entry Clearance?
2 – What do the rules, practice and experience say with regard to this delay when the BHC does not respond to the correspondence and your enquiry? (E-mail, fax and written enquiry sent through courier assisted service included.)
3 – Where to seek assistance for this delay when the passport is submitted for Entry Clearance from the context of “ Allowed Appeal” and Call in letter duly sent by the BHC for Entry Clearance under HSMP Category ?
4 – Does anyone know of any ruling or decision over such delay ever given by AIT Judge?
5 – Can EC Officer flout AIT Judge’s Decision & Direction without any cogent reason and starts verifying the same issues & objections raised before by him? Any Precedent?
6 – Thereafter, can Entry Clearance be refused altogether? (Reference: “Allowed” Appeal & Call in Letter under HSMP Category).
Please share your views, knowledge and experience. This might help considerably to the forum members and guests visiting this site and all those who are facing this confused situation. Your FEW words might give way to the many that are into this maze.
