ISLAMABAD (APP) – Some 400 to 500 megawatt of electricity per day will be obtained through wind turbine all across the country in the next three years.
Pakistan Alternative Energy Board (PAEB) chief executive, Shahid Hamid told Geo News in its programme ‘Tezi Mandi’ in Karachi. He said that initially five wind turbines would be installed in Sindh’s
ambheer area in collaboration with a Turkish company, through which, about 6MW of electricity would be obtained.
He said that micro-turbines have already been installed in different areas of Sindh and Balochistan and overall 65 villages would be switched over to solar energy by the end of June 2008, while project was underway for supplying solar energy to 400 villages by the end of the year 2008. Shahid Hamid further said that bio-fuel’s key-‘roduct was bio-diesel, whose production from non-food grains was under different experimentation.
