Samarkand, Samarqand, Samarqanda Uzbekistan was the capital of Temur the Great Tamerlane, Amir Temur and afterward. Samarkand has the same position in Uzbekistan History as St Petersburg has in Russian History. There are many important monuments and places to Visit: Mazaar of Imam Bukhari (30km from Samarkand), Gori Amir The Mausoleum of Amir temur, Shah Zinda (Mausoleum of Hadrat Hissam Ibne Abbass The Cousin of the Prophet PBUH), The mausoleum of Abu Mansoor Al Matrudi the Greatest Sunni Faqih during the middle ages, Masjid Bibi Khanum (Mosque Built in the name of Temur's wife), The Mausoleum of Hadrat Danial(The prophet, the remains were brought by Temur from Syria), The Ulug Bek Observatory (where great astrologer and the grand son of Temur used to study stars). City has good hotels and the best is Regal Palace Hotel Located at the Samarkand Airport. President Hotel. There are daily Train Service from Samarkand to Tashkent which takes 3 Hours and the fare is about 10 USD. Shared taxis also operate between Samarkand, Tashkent, Termez, Bukhara, Novoi, Jizak and other cities of Uzbekistan. Shared taxis charge about 10 USd for Tashkent Bukhara, and 15 USD for Termez.

Tashkent is the only city in the world where all the public transport buses fleet is based on Mercedez Buses. In year 2009 350 new Bercedez Buses were added to Tashkent City Transport Fleet. In other Cities of Uzbekistan also Mercedez Buses have been Introduced. Uzbekistan has one of the best Public Transport System and Tashkent Transport is served by Tashkent Metro (Subway, Underground) Electric Buses, Minivan, Tramway, and Buses. In Tashkent any car is a Taxi and the Visitors can stop the private car and agree for the fare and travel

For the Information of Readers Tashkent is very Old City having more than 2000 Years History. on 26th April 1966 whole city was destroyed because if Earth Quake and Tashkent was Built after 1966.
There was some objection from some quarters for the shifting of the old Soviet Monument in Tashkent Uzbekistan. there is always a nostalgic feeling about any thing old and generally people love inertia. Nations must keep on adopting to the new demands of the time and challenges. Tashkent Uzbekistan is a city comparable with any best and thanks to the government and President Islam Karimov.
